Hydrangeas Derek Henderson
KAUKAU is pleased to present a series of Hydrangea works by Derek Henderson.
Derek Henderson is a photographer and artist based in Sydney, Australia. He has exhibited extensively in Aotearoa and abroad. This is a continuation of his ‘Hydrangea’ series, first photographed for his book ‘Mercy Mercer’ published by Michael Lett Publishing (2009).
"Ever since I took my first Hydrangea work, I've been captivated by the repetitive pattern of flower heads. I find them mesmerising. The repeated pattern appears to shimmer in front of you and you have a depth that is hard to capture with two-dimensional medium of photography.
This series is a continuation of that fascination I have with patterns that occur in nature"
