A textural vase by Fable Ceramics, made from a stoneware clay and finished with a black slip that is mixed with local Pōneke sand, from Breaker Bay beach.
"Breaker Bay will always feel like coming home. There's something about the smell of the sea air as it blasts in your face, that I find very nostalgic. For this particular vase I asked my dad to collect some sand from the beach for me as I wanted to experiment with incorporating it into a piece. This work is very much a collaboration between myself and the area I grew up in."
