A stoneware clay lamp base by Fable Ceramics, that has been raku fired with a clear crackle glaze. Finished with bronze hardware fittings and features a black twist cord, black switch, and plug. Fitted and wired by a registered electrician.
"I've recently discovered Raku (a firing process where ceramic pieces are taken from the kiln while they are still red hot and are then placed in a combustible material such as sawdust or newspaper) and I love how organic and unpredictable the results can be. Because there are so many variables and opportunities for things to go wrong, I find I have to go into the process with the expectation that nothing will turn out the way that I want and, worst case scenario, everything will crack and break. If I do this I'm often pleasantly surprised with the outcome."
