This ceramic brooch is from a series entitled ‘Between the Folds’. It explores the state of in-between-ness… from soft to hard, fluid to fixed, vulnerable to resilient, these quiet transitional moments are captured as fossilised sculptures. Each piece comprises hand-pressed ceramic petals that are carefully crinkled and creased into organic forms. Within the folds lay pools of molten-glass, recycled from old villa doors and windows.
